Meet Emily Roche
Emily Roche wants to make a difference while doing a job she loves. She believes in fostering the individual potential of each student. As a teacher, Emily works to meet students where they are and help them grow. She uses data from assessments and observations to implement lessons that fit the students’ needs while challenging them academically.
After graduating Magna Cum Laude with a Batchelor of Science in Elementary Education from Missouri State University, Emily Roche served two years as an AmeriCorps Volunteer—one year teaching second grade at a school in inner-city Chicago, and a second year with the Christian Appalachian Project in Jackson County, Kentucky. She then worked for seven years as the Literacy Program Coordinator for the Save the Children grant at McKee Elementary in Jackson County. She also taught 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade science and math at Saint Mark Catholic School in Richmond, KY. In December of 2017, Emily completed her Master of Art in Education, Learning and Behavior Disorders from Union College in Barbourville, KY. She currently works as a Behavior Support Specialist at a private clinic where she effectively plans and implements behavior intervention therapy for individuals with autism and related disorders. Some of her interests are: creative writing, backyard chickens, and strong coffee. |
